Our Favourite Trends from ‘SS18

As we near the end of the monsoon, we enter into drier yet hotter territory. Trying to figure out fashion that works with the heat but is still current and stylish is not always easy with trends changing on a seemingly monthly basis. We looked back at some of the best SS18 men’s fashion shows to pick out some of our favourite trends that you need to get on.

Printed Shirts

We know that it takes a brave man to wear a Hawaiian shirt but when Louis Vuitton puts these on their runway, we know better than to ignore the memo. The great thing about this trend is that you can go as floral as you like but the goal is to find an all-over print that you can rock. Wear this trend buttoned up with a pair of cotton shorts or mid-wash denim (our next trend) for a very floral, fashionable summer.

Mid-Wash Denim

Jeans are trending now and trending hard. Even designers like Craig Green who are known for their more tailored looks are showing off denim designs this season. Luckily for us, this trend has moved past the heavily distressed, ripped, acid-wash jeans of our youth and moved ahead to a mid-wash blue variety. The shade is the perfect blue and is adorning loose, seventies style jeans.

Monochrome dressing is something we’ve never quite gotten over, thanks to Calvin Klein’s Italo Zucchelli and we’re glad that it’s back on the runways. Pick your favourite shade and wear it head to toe in different gradations. This trend is great for layering, is elegant, sophisticated and very versatile. The perfect way to embrace summer with ease and style.

Slogan T-Shirts

With the rise of athleisure came the acceptance of t-shirts in almost every stratum of life. Whether you’re wearing one under a bespoke Herringbone & Sui jacket to a wedding event or at the office, t-shirts are the best way to wear your personality on your sleeve. No longer do we keep our political views a secret, but we announce them loud and proud to all those around us. Look to brands like Vetements and your favourite high street brands for inspiration.

Now that the monsoon is gone, we can finally shed some light on our brilliant whites. It’s hard to go wrong with a white shirt or t-shirt and now white is right even on trousers and shorts. This trend is perfect for the summer and especially nice for when you’re traveling.
